Job Description
The Production Assistant will work under the supervision of the Festival Production Manager. Additional duties may be assigned by the Festival Directors. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
Pre-festival:
Work closely with the Managing Director, the Production Manager, and the entire VMMF team to prepare for the Festival, including Zoom meetings to be scheduled in June/July.
During festival run (July 12 – July 27, 2025):
-Be available for all lectures, day and evening performances, and assist at day-of-concert rehearsals.
-Attend additional rehearsals, staff meetings, instrument load-in and load-out as necessary.
-Work with the Production Manager for all concert stage set changes during performances and rehearsal set ups.
-Coordinate with the Production Manager the exact performance and lecture start time, which may vary from performance to performance.
-Be responsible for calling performers for each concert to ensure the schedule is followed as planned.
-Assist with transportation and setup of music equipment, including but not limited to fortepianos, music stands, stand lights, chairs for musicians and audience, acoustic shell.
-Carry and set up additional lighting, especially for sub-standard lighting conditions.
-Ensure that the Green Room is clean and organized.
-Assist in picking up, setting up and striking wine and glasses after receptions.
-Work with the Directors, Production Manager, and VMMF Staff to create an aesthetic environment when publicity and archival photography or videography are planned.
-All other support duties as assigned by VMMF.
Dates/Compensation:
Contract dates are July 10 through July 28, 2025.
This is a contract seasonal staff position. Compensation $3,000 commensurate with experience. No employee benefits will be offered or available.
Hours/Locations:
Expected hours include Monday through Friday mornings through mid-afternoon, and weekends. The majority of events take place at the Hanna Center Auditorium. There are 4 offsite events that will take place during the festival.

Tue 22 - 7pm concert at Buena Vista winery
Thu 24 - 6pm event at private residence
Fri 25 - 6pm concert at Hanna
Sat 26 - 2:30pm lecture and 4pm concert at Hanna
Sun 27 - 11am kids concert at community center, 4pm concert at Hanna and 6pm closing celebration at Hanna or private residence
