Chora Nova, a Berkeley-based chorus directed by John Kendall Bailey, announces auditions for all voice parts for the 2026-27 season. We present innovative programs featuring a mix of well-known and unusual works from the Baroque to the 21st century. Our concerts are frequently accompanied by an orchestra and we always use professional vocal soloists. Our chorus is a friendly, welcoming group, with opportunities to socialize outside of rehearsals. We offer a limited number of scholarships to offset tuition costs. Auditions last ten minutes, consisting of vocal exercises and two prepared short pieces from our fall repertoire, sent in advance of the audition.
