2025 Collaborative Pianist and Accompanist Position 

Job Description: Accompany 2 or more rehearsals per concert set (3 sets per year), Tuesdays 7:30-10pm, at the downtown Oakland rehearsal venue

Compensation: $80/hour, 2.5-hour rehearsal minimum ($200/rehearsal)

Start Date: Tuesday, September 9th.

Sacred and Profane Chamber Chorus is an advanced, non-professional choral ensemble of approximately 30 singers. The ensemble performs primarily a cappella repertoire, with occasional collaborations with instrumentalists and chamber orchestras. The Collaborative Pianist will primarily support the initial rehearsals in each concert set (typically 2-4 rehearsals per set for a cappella programs; 3 concert sets per year). Additionally, the Collaborative Pianist may have the opportunity to perform with the choir in concert or support rehearsals in additional rehearsals to prepare for accompanied concerts. Repertoire is diverse, ranging from early music to contemporary classical music. The ensemble is skilled in a variety of styles, including advanced classical and contemporary music, folk and ethnic traditions, and pop. The ensemble occasionally premieres new commissioned works and participates in choral festivals and community activities.
