This May, immerse yourself in a masterpiece! The San Francisco Bach Choir proudly presents J.S. Bach’s Mass in B Minor, the culminating event to our 90th season. Join us for one of two performances:
- Saturday, May 9, 4:00 pm in Berkeley
- Sunday, May 10, 4:00 pm in San Francisco
Perhaps the greatest choral work ever written, J.S. Bach’s masterwork offers a journey of heart and soul: dazzling, tender, and powerful. Although universally recognized as a pinnacle of human creativity, at its core the Mass in B Minor is a personal expression of spiritual devotion that transcends religious boundaries.
Crafted over decades, the Mass in B Minor unfolds in intricate textures, luminous choruses, and moments of profound stillness—it stands as one of the most extraordinary achievements in the choral repertoire.
The San Francisco Bach Choir will be joined by professional soloists and the Jubilate Baroque Orchestra, a program of the San Francisco Early Music Society:
- Clarissa Lyons, Soprano
- Morgan Balfour, Soprano
- Heidi Waterman, Alto
- Sam Faustine, Tenor
- Curtis Streetman, Bass
