The Mikado is probably the best-loved and most well-known of all the
Gilbert & Sullivan comic operas. On the surface it appears to make
fun of Japan and the Japanese, but the “Japan” of The Mikado is really a
fantasy kingdom serving as a setting for a satire on English society

Interview/audition: Two contrasting (slower and faster) short solo
pieces or orchestral excerpts that will showcase your abilities. No
accompanist is provided; you may bring an accompanist if you like.
Sight-read a short excerpt of easy to medium-easy difficulty.

All singers are welcome. Must be able to match pitch, transition between
registers (sing high and low), and blend with the choir. Sight reading
