The Community Women’s Orchestra is thrilled to welcome you to our final performance of the 2024-25 season, Folk Songs of the Four Seasons: A 40th Anniversary Gala Concert. In celebration of our 40th anniversary and this monumental achievement, we will be joined by the Berkeley Women’s Community Chorus for a performance of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ cantata Folk Songs of the Four Seasons. This rarely performed work for female voices and orchestra takes us on a musicological journey through a year in the English countryside. With accompanying works by iconic suffragette Dame Ethel Symth, Samuel Coleridge Taylor, and Fredrick Delius, this concert is a delightful and heartwarming tour of English classical music.
We are so excited to be working with the Berkeley Women’s Community Chorus and supporting our organizations' shared mission of uplifting and supporting women in classical music. Please join us for this special performance!

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY WOMEN’S ORCHESTRA
Now in our 40th concert season, CWO continues to fulfill our mission to create a welcoming environment to engage, inspire and celebrate women in classical music. Founded in 1985 as a community adjunct to Women’s Philharmonic, the CWO became an independent non-profit, has grown to more than sixty members, and is one of few all-women's orchestras in the United States.
