The San Francisco Electronic Music Festival (SFEMF) launches its 25th anniversary season with a special public program at the Koret Auditorium in partnership with the San Francisco Public Library and with support from the Italian Cultural Institute and InterMusic SF. Celebrating a quarter century of groundbreaking electronic music, the event traces SFEMF's enduring role in fostering experimental sound and performance through a conversation with festival founders Pamela Z and Miya Masaoka.
Reflecting on the festival's history, evolution, and lasting influence on the Bay Area's experimental music community, Pamela Z and Miya Masaoka will be joined by SFEMF committee members for a program of short live performances interwoven with archival photographs, video, and other documentation from the festival's 25-year history. Together, these elements offer a vivid portrait of SFEMF's legacy while looking ahead to its continued commitment to adventurous electronic music and sound art.
