John Karl Hirten plays classical pipe-organ concert Feb. 15 in Healdsburg

John Karl Hirten, a noted composer and director of music at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ross, plays a concert of Bach, Milhaud, Bruhns, Hewitt and his own compositions at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15. The concert takes place at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Healdsburg, and is presented as a gift to the community. There is no admission fee.

Hirten holds a master's degree in organ performance from the New York School of Music. He has played with the San Francisco Symphony and the Berkeley Symphony; and he is a regular monthly performer at the Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.

The church is located at the corner of East and Matheson Streets, one block east of Healdsburg's downtown Plaza. Nearby parking is free.
