Berkeley Baroque Strings Presents A Handel Extravaganza!

Presented by Berkeley Baroque Strings

Works by George Frideric Handel are highlighted in the Berkeley Baroque Strings June 6th performance, which is part of the Berkeley Music Festival and Exhibition Fringe concerts. Bay Area resident Arthur Omura is the featured guest soloist, performing the Organ Concerto in B-flat. "Da tempeste il legno infranto" (The wood battered by the storm) from Giulio Cesare highlights soprano Caroline Jou Armitage. Tenor Barrie Cowan will perform "Waft her, angels, through the skies" from Jephtha. Concerto Grosso in F Major, op. 6, no. 9, Concerto Grosso in B Minor, op.6 no. 12, along with "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" from Solomon are also on the program.

Under the music direction of Kati Kyme, longtime member of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Cantata Collective, and New Esterhazy Quartet, the chamber orchestra is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society.
