Summer Festival: Schubert

Presented by Music@Menlo

This summer marks a momentous occasion for Music@Menlo: the final festival under the Artistic Directorship of David Finckel and Wu Han. Tickets are now on sale for Redux, a celebratory exploration of chamber music which revisits themes from David and Wu Han's 24 years of leadership

Music@Menlo’s 2015 festival became a three-week Schubertiade, celebrating the life and music of Franz Schubert in the intimate spirit of the gatherings devoted to his works. This program features two of his most ambitious masterpieces: the Octet and Piano Trio No. 2. Both are inspired by Beethoven yet unmistakably Schubertian. Rich in lyricism, scale, and emotional depth, they reveal a composer whose artistic vision expanded dramatically in the final years of his short life.
