Join us in our wonderful new venue, with lots of free parking, cushy seats and great sight lines. We will offer you some rarities of the music world. First up is a touch of Bach and a hint of Mozart in the fugal String Symphony by a very young Felix Mendelssohn. Then journey through the Emerald Isle with Ina Boyle’s Symphony No. 1, from the hills of the coast, to a windy valley, and up to a high, blue lake.
We end the concert with Symphony No. 4 by Muzio Clementi, who wrote at the same time as Mozart and outlived Beethoven. Clementi was, in fact, the most well-known piano composer of the time (no, it wasn’t Mozart!), a household name back then, if you will. This dramatic symphony, written just before he died, just might make him a household name in your house.
Come early for a pre-concert talk by Music Director Eric Hansen, 2:40pm. The venue is fully accessible.
Tickets are free, but are required in advance. Donations gratefully accepted.
