2026 marks the centennial of the prolific, versatile and important composer Hans Werner Henze. This second concert series we are producing this summer at the historic Ruth Williams Opera House (formerly the Bayview Opera House), features three American premieres of Henze's string music spanning five decades of his career. We will be presenting his First and Second String Sonatas, Capriccio for solo cello, San Biagio Agosto 9 Ore 12:07 for solo bass, and the Doppio Concerto for harp, oboe and strings with Bay Area superstars Jennifer Ellis and Kyle Bruckmann as soloists. The ensemble will be conducted by the magnanimous Ryan Murray.
