PCO was founded in 1998 by Stanley Lee and Anne Lee. The mission of PCO is to provide an after school music education for students of all ages. The young musicians will learn not only how to play together in an orchestra, but to learn different music styles from different eras (Baroque, Classic, Romantic, 20th Century and Contemporary) as well.
Eurhythmics utilizes the natural desire for movement all children possess. Students are furnished with not just an understanding of music and knowledge of its written language, but a thorough sense and feeling for it. Among other benefits, the study of music through movement cultivates inner hearing and gives children a holistic understanding of musical elements such as pulse, meter, rhythm pattern, phrasing and form. This grounding in the basic language of music leads to a distinct advantage when learning a musical instrument.
Intermediate & Advanced Chamber Music ensembles emphasize quartet and trio repertoire, string and wind trios through sextets, two-piano literature, and guitar and harp ensembles. Priority is given to students enrolled for private lessons at the Preparatory Division; pre-formed groups are welcome.
Music appreciation classes vary per semester. Popular offerings have included; Music Appreciation: An Overview of Western Music History, and Who's Afraid of Opera.
MUSIC IS FUN classes are for 2-3 year olds, exploring rhythm, pitch, soft-loud, high-low and counting, with drums and piano. AVANT TOT is a group class for 4 and 5 year olds that teaches age appropriate musical concepts (loud-soft, high-low pitch, location of middle C, singing do-re-mi-fa-sol, do-re-mi-fa-sol fingers and do-re-mi-fa-sol piano keys + more) using the piano. The material is presented in a focused, logical stream of short segments, reinforced with the accompanying book AVANT TOT. Designed to help prepare your child for group or private music lessons.

A wonderful way to introduce your child to one of the most popular beginning instruments: violin, cello, piano, fife, or recorder. Kids explore a chosen instrument in small group classes during this week-long camp, and also enjoy a range of fun musical activities including an all-camp chorus, rhythm and movement classes, and hands-on opportunities to discover a variety of other orchestral instruments.
In this class, students listen to and analyze a great variety of music- contemporary works as well as masterpieces of established music literature. In addition to this guided listening, students engage in sight singing, ear training, and written exercises, building the fluency that is required of a proficient musician.
