"From the North Sea to the East Bay: chamber music from 17th and 18th century Germany and beyond"

Presented by Barefoot Chamber Concerts

Barefoot Chamber Concerts (“an enterprise noted for both its quality and informality” – San Francisco Classical Voice) presents really good music in the right acoustic and without the formality of most classical music events.

For our March concert, Barefoot is fortunate to be able to present a concert of baroque gems from Germany and neighboring countries played by local and international supergroup Bertamo (Letitia Berlin, recorders; Yuko Tanaka, harpsichord; and David Morris, viol, with guest violinist Cynthia Keiko Black.

The program, "From the North Sea to the East Bay" showcases music by the likes of Georg Philipp Telemann, Dietrich Buxtehude, Johannes Schenk, and Carolus Hacquart.

These composers learned their baroque language from the Italians, and their sophisticated sense of style from the French. The result is the best of both worlds – and uniquely Northern.

All this in the lovely acoustic of St. Mary Magdalen Parish Hall.  Don't miss this concert; you can reserve a seat (recommended) by emailing us at info@barefootchamberconcerts.com and pay at the door when you come!
