The Berkeley Baroque Strings opens its twelfth season with an evening of music highlighting English composers. The program includes Henry Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and his delightful minuets, airs, and rondeaux from Gordian Knott Unty'd and Abdelazer Suite. Also featured are works by William Boyce, Matthew Locke, and William Lawes.
Under the music direction of Kati Kyme, longtime member of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Cantata Collective, and Voices of Music, the chamber orchestra is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society.
The concert takes place at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, 2837 Claremont Blvd., Berkeley.
