Berkeley Baroque Strings Presents Music's Passions: The Genius of Handel and Bach

Presented by Berkeley Baroque Strings

Guest soloist William Skeen, violoncello piccolo

Join the Berkeley Baroque Strings for a memorable evening highlighting works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Handel. The orchestra welcomes back guest soloist William Skeen, performing his adaptation of Bach’s Concerto in A Major BWV 1055 for violoncello piccolo. Soprano Caroline Jou Armitage will solo in Handel’s Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day and will duet with tenor Barrie Cowan in Handel’s sublime “As Steals the Morn.” Selections from Bach’s Suite in B Minor will feature violinist Titia Martin.

Under the music direction of Kati Kyme, longtime member of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and member of the New Esterhazy Quartet and Agave Baroque, the chamber orchestra is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society.

The concert takes place at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, 1 Lawson Rd., Kensington.
