Symphonies for Youth Melody & Pitch: An introduction to the woodwind family

Discover the colorful personalities of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s woodwinds as they take center stage in a concert full of vibrant works by Dvořák, Stravinsky, and four distinct yet influential American composers. Hear the famously sassy clarinet opening from Rhapsody in Blue, the bubbly flutes and oboes of the “New World,” and a warm and bluesy blend of winds in Still’s most popular work—plus, more music to spark young imaginations!

Make sure to come an hour early, at 10am, for a range of exciting activities that change to fit the theme of each performance. Children and families enjoy self-guided art activities and fun for all ages throughout the space. Join us for a morning of musical celebration that will stay with children for a lifetime.

This 45-minute concert is recommended for children ages 5 to 11.
