Concertmaster Liana Bérubé leads the San José Chamber Orchestra Strings in a Spring-inspired program of Bérubés making with music by Edvard Grieg, Vivaldi recomposed by Max Richter, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and a new commission by Michael Touchi.
"I'm so excited to present this program with the San José Chamber Orchestra", explained Bérubé. "As the concert is just a couple days after the spring equinox, I planned the music around the energy of springtime - hope, joy, and renewal - which also have a natural connection to the start of the bird migration season. Each of the pieces we are presenting shows a different facet of this energy, from a cacophony of birdsong in Vivaldi Recomposed to gentle zephyrs in The Lark Ascending to the rollicking buoyancy of the Holberg Suite. I am so thrilled and honored to not only be curating and playing in this concert, but also to be acting as leader of the orchestra."
