Our Spring 2016 program is one of serenity and reflection, as well as one of joy and passion. You’re not going to want to miss this season!

French Romantic composer Gabriel Fauré’s (1845-1924) beloved, serene Requiem is meant to convey eternal peace, rest, and comfort. His Cantique de Jean Racine is a beautiful prayer of the early morning, offering praise and requesting divine blessing as one begins the day.

English composer Benjamin Britten’s (1913-1976) energetic Festival Te Deum is a vibrant prayer of praise and thanksgiving.

Sacred & Profane has openings for voices in all sections (SATB). If you are an experienced singer with a healthy voice & a great attitude, please audition with us for this extraordinary 2015 - 2016 season.

Chorale

This a cappella chorus of 24–32 balanced voices is divided into two SATB choirs to tackle some of the more demanding 8-part choral literature. Repertoire for the 2015–2016 season includes Rheinberger’s Mass in E-flat for double choir and modern works by Pårt, Górecki, Howells, and Persichetti.

The Valley Concert Chorale, the Tri-Valley’s premier chorus, is now scheduling appointments for auditions for singers who would like to be a part of the Chorale’s 2015-2016 season. Auditions will be held on the following dates:

• Mondays, September 14, 21 and 28

Auditions and rehearsals are held at the First Presbyterian Church of Livermore. The church is located at 2020 Fifth Street.

Voices of Silicon Valley 2015-2016 Season Auditions

Wednesday, September 2nd , 2015, 7-9:30 pm, at our regular rehearsal location at First United Methodist church in downtown San Jose, 24 North 5th Street
San Jose, CA 95112. Individual auditions on other dates/times can be arranged with the director.

Concerts will take place in Berkeley and San Francisco. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings 7:30-10 PM in downtown Oakland.

Collage Vocal Ensemble 2015-2016 Season Auditions
Auditions to be held Sunday, August 23rd, 2015, 10am-1pm in Los Altos, CA

Individual auditions on other dates/times can be arranged with the director if needed. All voice parts will be considered. Successful applicants will have a strong background in choral singing, good sight-reading skills, and a sincere interest in exploring a broad range of musical styles and types. An appreciation for a casual but dedicated choral ensemble experience and a good sense of humor would also make you a good fit for Collage!

Celebrating its Tenth Anniversary Season, sixty-voice Chora Nova has become an important part of the San Francisco Bay Area’s cultural fabric. Our singers come from all parts of the San Francisco Bay region and from all walks of life. This diverse group has grown in skill and quality under the leadership of Dr. Paul Flight, who has been our Artistic Director since its inception.
