A Bay Area native, David E. Schneider, is the George Lurcy Professor of Music at Amherst College and resident musicologist, program annotator, and pre-concert lecturer for the Pioneer Valley Symphony. In addition to his scholarly publications, he has written about opera for The Wall Street Journal.
